Tenerife is the largest island in the chain of Spain’s Canary Islands. Located just of the western coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean, Tenerife enjoys year round mild climates similar to a tropical environment.
Because of its location and weather Tenerife is one of the best places to travel all year around. Tenerife has a square area of around 2000 kilometres and roughly 900,000 inhabitants. On average Tenerife gets about five million tourist each year.
One of the biggest attractions when visiting Tenerife is the carnival known as the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This carnival is held in February and March and it causes the streets of Tenerife to become a huge party area. Typically there are parades, samba shows and live music. Recently this carnival has been aspiring to become a World Heritage Site.
